About us What we do Our history In 1981 a group of ACT mothers started The Post Natal Depression Support Group, meeting around the kitchen tables of its members. In 1989 the self-help group amalgamated with another group (EXPAND Inc.) and in 2001 was renamed as Post and Antenatal Depression Support and Information Inc. (PANDSI). In 1997 the organisation received government funding and widened its scope, developing a telephone support program to complement the existing support groups. PANDSI employed part-time support workers and administration staff, in addition to the ongoing support of dedicated volunteers. The organisation continued to grow, developing new programs and community partnerships to meet the demand for perinatal mental health support in the ACT. In 2016 PANDSI achieved accreditation as a mental health service and now provides support to more than 300 Canberra families each year. In 2019 PANDSI re-launched as Perinatal Wellbeing Centre. Today's experienced team continue to provide mental health support, education, information and referral for families in Canberra during pregnancy and after the birth of your baby.
