Perinatal Wellbeing Centre launches Emergency Appeal called Caked It!

Perinatal Wellbeing Centre has today launched an Emergency Appeal in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with a slight twist. Inspired by the antics of Nailed It! and in the spirit of our annual fundraiser Cake Off, we are launching #Caked It! - a humorous challenge to supporters and the community alike to help with baking and/or donating to the Perinatal Wellbeing Centre so that we can continue to provide care and support for families who are truly in need during this crisis.

We have found that the restrictions and concerns related to COVID-19 have definitely increased demand for our services, shown by a 44% increase in new clients in March. Additional grants that we have received have certainly helped us better cope with this surge in demand, but our capacity is
stretched and through this appeal we hope to cover the shortfall in funds.

We are asking for those willing to take on the challenge to post an image of a cake they like, and another of their own personal recreation of that cake to their social media channels tagging us, encouraging generous donations and using the hashtag, #cakedit so that we can share all the beautiful
and (hopefully) funny creations.

CEO Dr Yvonne Luxford said, “We were so disappointed to postpone Cake Off until 2021 because as well as bringing in much needed funds, it is also creates lots of fun for the whole community. We hope that #CakedIt will put the fun back in fundraising and will brighten up our media feeds during this
difficult time.”

Our social media platforms are: Facebook(https://www.facebook.com/perinatalwellbeingcentre/),
Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/perinatalwellbeingcentre/) and Twitter (@PerinatalW).

All donations made to the Perinatal Wellbeing Centre of $2 and over are tax deductible
